of Gdańsk announces a competition for the position of

Post-doc in the Laboratory of Environmental Chemometrics

within the Department of Chemistry

 

The competition may join those who meet the requirements defined in the "Law on Higher Education" dated. 27.07.2005 r. (Journal of Laws No. 164, item. 1365, as amended. D.) and the Statute of the University of Gdańsk § 89.

 

1. Subject:

The person hired for this position will carry out the tasks of scientific research within the area of toxicity of nanoparticles.

 

2. Expectations:

  • PhD in chemistry, physics, biology, materials science or life science

  • Knowledge on state-of-the-art in the area of nanosafety research including experimental methods for risk assessment (especially toxicity testing and nanomaterials characterization).

  • Experience in performing research proved by published high quality research papers

  • High level skills in scientific writing

  • Analytical thinking

  • Skills and motivation for fast learning of new methods, including the development of new predictive models for risk assessment of engineered nanoparticles

  • Strong motivation to develop personal research carrier

  • Self-reliance and creativity

  • Organizational skills.

 

3. Contract conditions:

  • Type of contract: Regular contract for limited time

  • Duration: 12 months with possibility of extension (up to 23 months in total)

  • Starting date: November 2016

  • Salary: Regular assistant professor salary (as regulated by internal rules of the University of Gdańsk).

  • CV taking into account scientific achievements of the candidate (m. In. List of publications, information about the scientific held internships, participation in conferences, won awards and honors, etc.)

  • brief cover letter stating the addresses and telephone numbers of three scientists who may issue opinions on previous work Candidate

  • copies of the three most important, in candidate opinion, scientific publications.

 

Chosen candidates will be shortlisted for na interview (in person or by Skype). The final decision about the positive qualification for the position will be adopted and communicated to the Candidate within two weeks of the interview. Persons not qualified will be informed by e-mail.
